My Thoughts:
This is book 2 of the Drone Wars. You need to read Saving Raine first. I liked the first book, but I thought this one was a little better. Matt is now a part of March22 and is on a mission for them. This is fast-paced with plenty of politics, action, and betrayal.

My Thoughts:
I love this series! Once again I enjoyed the witty banter, over the top flirting, exciting schemes, and action. Kate and Nick are both great characters. Nick with his charm and love of the con, even though he's supposed to be doing good, now. Kate with her toughness and weak spot for Nick. The supporting characters are outstanding, particularly Kate's dad, Jake. Other favorites are back as well. This one has a cliffhanger ending which has me screaming for the next book. Now.

My Thoughts:
I love this series. It is a fun combination of thriller, police story, humor, danger, and a splash of romance. Nick and Kate are working together again to take down a big bad guy. Kate is an FBI agent, and Nick is a criminal. They don't exactly work within the law. I love the banter between them. They're hilarious and is just a matter of time before they get together. Clever plot, witty banter, an interesting cast of characters. An overall fun read. Once again, this book leaves me wanting more.

Review: Tap Rack Bang by Robert Blake Whitehill and Giveaway

Description:

My Thoughts:

Whitehill does it again with non-stop action, nail-biting suspense, nightmare-inducing villains, and high-caliber weapons. Ben Blackshaw is still in hiding when he stumbles into a human trafficking ring, which he addresses for his own reasons and with his own brand of justice. Blackshaw is the kind of hero who has morals, but is willing to do whatever it takes for those he cares about, and who earns the respect and trust of his friends. Unfortunately there is a high body count on this mission, and not all of the good guys make it through. A gripping read that I couldn't put down. The best Blackshaw book to date.

My Thoughts:
This is the third book in the Drift Lords series, but I think you would be fine starting anywhere. I love this series and I've been curious about Magnor with the one name, beard, sword, and cape. He may be a warrior, but he's no match for Erika Sherwood, the woman he meets and marries in a Las Vegas casino. As they work together to save the world, Erika comes to terms with the fact that she married an alien and has powers she didn't know about while Mangor tries to decide if he is worthy of having her for a wife. I loved both characters and enjoyed their story. A fun combination of action, adventure, sci-fi, mystery, mythology, and romance. I loved this book and cannot get enough Drift Lords.

Review: Consequences (Chronicles of M Book 4) by Nicholas Forristal

My Thoughts:
M on a talk show. I was hooked right there. I have enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. There are new and interesting characters, as well as old favorites. This book has Thomas, magic, zombies, Mai and Oni, and a five man midget death squad from Scotland. It is not necessary to have read the other books, but I recommend it. And this one is definitely not the end. There is death, mayhem, action, and humor. It was a fun read and I'm looking forward to book 5.

Review
I loved this. From the first page, it was a fun, quick read. I loved the characters of Kate the ex-military FBI agent and Nick the thief and con artist. And they can't pull off what they do without the help of some other great characters: Joe, Boyd, Willie, Kate's dad Jack and his friends. There is plenty of action here as well. There are heists pulled off in a variety of creative ways, explosions, cons. This book is great if you are looking for something fun to read. Th Chase is the second Fox and O'Hare book. I missed the first but now I want to go back and read it!

My Thoughts:

This is the first book of a new series and sets up an interesting dystopian near-future that is scarily realistic.  After Matt's father is arrested, he gets a message that he needs to get across the country to save his long-distance girlfriend. Getting there is not as easy as it sounds. There is plenty of action and suspense and the story moves right along, although the storyline is split between several different characters' points of view. I found that a bit distracting at times because I forgot who was supposed to be the main character and what they were trying to accomplish. There are a lot of loose threads at the end to be continued in the next book.

About the author:

Frederick Lee Brooke launched the Annie Ogden Mystery Series in 2011 with Doing Max Vinyl and following with Zombie Candy in 2012, a book that is neither about zombies nor sweets. The third mystery in the series, Collateral Damage, appeared in 2013.

Saving Raine, the first book in Fred’s entirely new series, The Drone Wars, appeared in December, 2013.

A resident of Switzerland, Fred has worked as a teacher, language school manager and school owner. He has three boys and two cats and recently had to learn how to operate both washing machine and dryer. He makes frequent trips back to his native Chicago.

My Thoughts:
Alex Grosjean is back in this follow-up to Zeus, Inc. She is smart, tough, independent, and has a bit of a potty mouth. Now she is the Oracle, dealing with Greek gods on a daily basis and using her detective skills to prevent mythological creatures from killing. All in a day's work. And her new boyfriend Harry, while adorable, is keeping some secrets of his own. I loved this book, maybe even more than the first. Things are settling in now and we are getting used to Alex's world. Mystery, mythology, and a bit of romance. I am definitely looking forward to continuing the series.

My Thoughts:
I loved this. It is a fast-paced, historical fantasy adventure story with lots of action and mythical creatures. A well-told story that really puts you in the time period, without bogging you down with too many details. A great story if you haven't read Chronicles of M. But if you have, it gives you some background on a certain strange warrior woman who has an odd relationship with her sword. I just keep thinking how many years there are between the end of this story and Chronicles of M...

My Thoughts:
I loved this! I think what I liked so much about it came down to two things: compelling storytelling and fantastic characters. The story pulled me in right away. It didn't matter that I hadn't read the first two books in the series. I didn't realize I was missing anything. I just wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen next. The mystery was interesting and kept me guessing. And the characters were so real and believable and imperfect. They didn't always do the right thing, but it always made sense. Now I have to go back and read the first two books because Annie Ogden is a great character. She is an Iraq vet and there is just so much to her. I definitely want more.

My Thoughts:
Book two of the Ben Blackshaw series, Nitro Express is an exciting, fast-paced thrill ride even better than the first. In this installment, Ben is hiding out in NYC turning gold into art. He is found and reluctantly pulled into an op. Don't worry if you haven't read the first, because there is enough info to fill you in. I couldn't read fast enough and was racing through the pages to reach the conclusion, which blew me away. This is a well-written book that gives you pieces of the puzzle and you are compelled to keep reading so you can put them together. The body count is fairly high and the author has the ability to paint a vivid, gory picture in just a few words. There are also some great witty lines to lighten things up. Fans of action, suspense, speed, and big guns will not want to miss this.

My Thoughts:
Not quite like anything I've read before, and I mean that in the best way. An interesting combination of steampunk, urban fantasy, and a detective novel. The characters are intriguing and have personality. The relationship between Mikani and Ritsuko, working and otherwise, is enjoyable to read. The banter between them is fun. I loved this and look forward to the next book in the series.

My Thoughts:
The concept is interesting with a mysterious and potentially dangerous substance that has been hidden and now everyone is trying to find.  I had a little trouble following at first. There are a lot of characters and the story jumps around quite a bit. As the story picks up, we end up traveling the world following clues to find the mysterious crystal. There is lots of action as Bryce ends up in the center of things, trying to make sure the crystal doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

My Thoughts:
If you are a fan of Heather Huffman, you'll like this one. It is fun to see characters show up in different books. There is the same combination of romance, suspense, and humor that we have come to expect. I did have a bit of trouble getting into this one at first. I didn't really understand the characters. I didn't get what happened between them and what was keeping them apart. Things eventually become more clear although I still don't really get Cody. I don't think we see much of his personality. I liked seeing Cat in action, although it came later in the book than I would have liked. It really helped to understand her character, I thought. Overall this was fun, action-filled romance with suspense.

My Thoughts:
It has been eight years since they broke up, now they are forced into close proximity so that Jude can keep Libby safe. It is easy to sympathize with Jude. He plays the role of screw-up, but there is more to him than he lets people see. He is conflicted because he still loves Libby, but doesn't think he deserves to be with her. There is plenty of steam here, as well as a bit of mystery and suspense. I also liked the introduction to the Wilde brothers, who will be in future books. We also get a peek at Seth Harlan who is mentioned in SEAL of Honor, who will be part of the HORNET team. I am looking forward to more of both series.
