Review: Ever After by Kim Harrison

My Thoughts:
I love this series and I can't believe it's almost over. Rachel has been through so much over the course of the series. In this book, she has to save the Ever After, and her own skin. A certain demon with a grudge against her isn't making it easy, though. There is not much Ivy in this one, but we see more of Bis, some Al and even Nick. I have to say, this book was more than a little heartbreaking, though still funny at other times, with lots of magical action. Her relationship with Trent seems to be evolving, though, which I think is a good thing. I really need to read the next book now.

Review: Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet by Darynda Jones

My Thoughts:
Charley is pretty messed up after the events of the last book. Her friends are trying to snap her out of it, but she can't bring herself to leave her apartment until she gets a case she can't turn down. This one is still funny, but a little darker. A war is brewing, and there is more action in this one. She is finding out more about her abilities. And of course, there is more Reyes. Once again, I can't wait to get to the next book.

Review: Third Grave Dead Ahead (Charley Davidson #3) by Darynda Jones

My Thoughts:

I love this series. It is so addictive. Each is book better than the last. There is always so much going on. Charley is as funny as ever. I love her banter with Cookie and Garrett. And Uncle Bob. In this book Charley is dealing with her ongoing issues with Reyes while trying to solve mysteries for her P.I. business. On top of that she has her grim reapering to do. Things start to get serious and there are twists that you don't see coming. I just want more.

My Thoughts:
This is the 19th book of the Dark-Hunter series. I started reading them in order, but there are so many that I just started grabbing whatever was available so I have read many out of order. Events are inter-connected and I have missed some things, but they are written so that you know all that you really need to know to understand the story.

I enjoyed No Mercy just as much as the others in the series. I love Dev, the bear shapeshifter, and his sarcastic sense of humor. Some of his lines had me laughing out loud. Sam, the tough Amazon Dark-Hunter is a good match for him.

As always, Kenyon doesn't make it easy for the main characters, but they inevitably find their Happily Ever After. I think that's what I like so much about the series.

My Thoughts:
I have been enjoying this series about a retired demon-hunter who ends up back in the game even though she now has a teenager and a toddler. This one is my favorite so far. There isn't as much of the every-day mom stuff, which tended to drag down some of the other books. It still shows how she has to juggle and balance all of her duties.  Lots of action and twists in this one that made me want to keep going to find out what happened next. Some of the twists I figured out ahead of time, but it was still enjoyable.
