Finessing Clarissa (The School For Manners #4) by Marion Chesney
Description:
Amy and Effy Tribble are matchmakers extraordinaire, but when Clarissa Vevian is sent to their School For Manners, the redoubtable Tribbles fear they have met their match. How can they possibly polish this potentially lovely, very tall girl? Yet it is not Clarissa's extravagant height that dissuades courtship so much as her awkward demeanor. For at her approach, tea tables totter, stemware shatters, lamps and bellcords are wont to perish... and prospective suitors take to their heels, for safety's sake!
Enter the dashing Earl of Greystone. The gallant bachelor is intrigued by this unconventional miss. Of course, his interest is merely brotherly, but the Tribbles are certain the new Clarissa will change that. And a kiss in the dark inspires Clarissa to agree ...
My Thoughts:
This was a fun book. Clarissa is too tall, clumsy, and has unfashionable red hair, so it is no wonder she is not married. Her parents send her to Amy and Effy to help her find a husband. A fun regency romance with great characters. And bad things just happen when Clarissa is around. Things catch fire, people fall down stairs, and she gets caught up with missing spy papers. Very entertaining. This is book four of the School for Manners series and I would love to check out the others.
Narrated by Lindy Nettleton, the audio is fantastic. She has such an expressive voice and very distinct voices for each of the characters. She drew me right into the story and made it a very entertaining listen.
