My Thoughts:

I loved this. David and Sandra were together in college. He screwed up and then let her walk away. He hasn't been able to forget her. He knows it was his fault,  but when she unexpectedly walks back into his life years later he's not going to let the opportunity pass. I love second chances and this was a good one. You can see that they love each other but they keep making mistakes. Neither wants to get hurt again. You can't help but want to see them together. This was both sweet and plenty steamy. I highly enjoyed this and now I want to read about the other brothers!

Review: Just My Type by Synithia Williams

Pretty soon the attraction they’ve tried to ignore boils to the surface. And after Fredrick shows Janiyah the man behind the numbers, she’s ready to show him that she’s just the type of woman he needs.

My Thoughts:
I loved this one! Janiyah and Frederick have known each other forever and are good friends, even living across the hall from one another. I love the alternating pov so you know what they're both thinking and how they see one another, because they are both clueless. It is fun that as the reader you know the whole story while they are each in the dark. It is great how they balance each other. At first glance they seem wrong for each other, but they actually complement one another very well. Frederick is very serious and doesn't want to make his father's mistakes while Janiyah is a bit flighty and knows how to have fun. Once again, Synithia Williams makes me feel all the feelings. A perfect romance read.

My Thoughts:
I loved this! I've read the author's other books and it was fun to see some familiar characters. Don't worry if you haven't read them because it won't make a difference. Each book stands on its own. I was happy to read Shayla and Devin's story because it was clear in Worth the Wait that they have a history. Right from the beginning I felt for Shayla. She has to come back to town in shame after scandal and the whole town is gossiping about her. Even her own mother treats her like she is worthless. Devin wants to stay away from Shayla after she broke his heart in high school, but they have trouble staying away from one another. Shayla wants to be with Devin, but doesn't think she deserves him. If you like angst and second chances, you will love this.

This week please welcome Synithia Williams. She is the author of You Can't Plan Love and the recently released Worth the Wait. Both are reviewed here at WiLoveBooks.

She sets out to find a man rumored to be good enough in bed to relieve her of the nuisance, but discreet enough to keep her request a secret.

Jared Patterson seems like the perfect candidate. Yet after one searing kiss, she wonders if she’ll escape a night with him unscathed. Jared’s job as a successful fitness instructor and entrepreneur has helped him keep a string of meaningless relationships from the east to the west coast. And now for the questions:

Describe your ideal writing space. How does it compare to reality?

My ideal writing space would be at a beach house in the Caribbean in a room overlooking the ocean. My actual space is my kitchen table with the sound of football coming from the family room and a blanket wrapped around my shoulders.

What is the first story you remember writing and what was it about?

I was six and made the cover out of wall paper. It was about two sisters who ran away to live in the woods. The younger sister was attacked by a jaguar and the older sister fought it to save her younger sister’s life. I think the oldest sister died killing the jaguar, and the younger sister buried her and left the knife on the grave. Yes, I’ve always been overdramatic.

Name a memorable book from your childhood. Why is it memorable?

I was a big fan of The Boxcar Children and the Babysitters Club. I loved stories of kids who were doing cool and impossible things. You had to be pretty smart and resourceful to survive in a box car and the girls in the Babysitter’s Club made the pre-teen and teenage years look awesome.

If you could ask any writer (living or dead) a question, who would it be and what would you ask?

A friend recently sent me a picture of Phillis Wheatley, the first African-American woman to publish a book in the U.S. I would be neat to talk with her and ask what motivated her to write and publish her book.

If you could pick any of the worlds or characters you have created, which would you want to visit or spend a day with?

It would be a character I’m writing now. She’s a lover of life, and if an idea strikes her interest she pursues it. Whether it’s cooking classes, music lessons, or traveling to Mexico just because the thought popped into her head. I don’t have the freedom to do that, but it would be great if I could.

What is one thing you like to do when you are not reading or writing?

I love spending time with my family. I have two boys (3 and 5) and my husband and I like to host get togethers with family and friends. If I’ve got an entire afternoon to myself, I’ll spend it watching Netflix.

What are you currently working on?

Finishing revisions on the book I mentioned earlier so that I can start submitting it to publishers in the next few weeks. I’ve also completed work on my third novel, A Heart to Heal, with Dr. Devin Jones friend to Malcolm and Jared Patterson.



Bio:
Synithia has loved romance novels since reading her first one at the age of 13. It was only natural she would begin penning her own soon after. It wasn’t until 2010 that she began to actively pursue her dream of becoming a published author. She completed her first novel, You Can’t Plan Love, in the fall of 2010 and sold it to Crimson Romance in 2012. When she isn’t writing, this Green Queen, as dubbed by the State Newspaper, works to improve air and water quality, while balancing the needs of her husband and two sons.

My Thoughts:
I just loved this book. Tasha and Jared are both likeable characters. Tasha is strong and knows what she wants. Jared is a player but not a jerk about it. They have tons of chemistry from the beginning, and then emotions get involved. You can see that the situation is not going to work out as planned. As the story unfolded, I could not put it down.  If you have read You Can't Plan Love, you will recognize some of the characters, as Jared is Malcolm's brother. That was fun. This is a smart story with humor and plenty of steam that made me smile, made me sad, and had an ending that I loved. Definitely recommend.

My Thoughts:
I loved this. Kenyatta is torn between the safe choice, the man her parents approve of, and the man she is attracted to, who also happens to be her boss. She has been attracted to Malcolm since she started working for him but he doesn't show any interest in her until she walks in with an engagement ring. I enjoyed reading about Kenyatta's struggle to make the right choice. There is also a suspenseful twist. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys romance with steam and drama.
