Review: The Duke's Disaster by Grace Burrowes

Description:
Noah Winters, Earl of Anselm, spent months sorting and courting the year's crop of debutantes in search of an ideal bride. When the sweet, biddable young thing he selected accepts another's proposal, Noah decides to court her companion instead.

Thea Collins, though, is anything but biddable. She has learned the hard way that men are not to be trusted, especially the handsome ones. When she reluctantly accepts, Noah rushes Thea to the altar before she can reveal her deepest secret. Can she finally move on from her past, or will it come back to haunt her?

My Thoughts:
Noah admits he's not nice but he needs a wife and since the woman he was courting is engaged now, Thea will do. The book starts with this less-than-romantic but entirely entertaining proposal and only gets better. Thea agrees because he has generously offered to ensure that her sister is cared for. However, she doesn't get a chance to tell him her dark secret, which could ruin everything. I liked both of them. They've both very practical people, but practical people can fall in love, too. Sure, many of their issues could be solved if they just talked to one another, but their stubbornness is part of their charm. They both have their reasons for keeping secrets. This story has some mystery and lots of steam. I love Grace Burrowes but this is probably one of my favorites.
